Making gold rings

First the rings are machined with grooves the same width as the gold.

Next the gold is pressed into the grooves and soldered together.

Then the gold is machined flat and the rings are sanded and polished.

I'm now also using another technique that rolls the gold into the grooves under pressure. The seam is pressed together tight enough that it's not visible.
